MP to Conduct Merit Scholarship Tests 2008-09

Apparently aimed at encouraging meritorious students, Madhya Pradesh government would conduct National Merit-cum-Means Fellowship tests for the coming 2008-09 academic session for students of ninth standard.
"During the academic session of 2008-09, students of ninth standard would be getting the benifit of National Merit-cum-Means Scholarship. They will have to appear for a written test for which a time table has been decided", an official release said.
The Scheme, launched by the Union Ministry for Human Resorce Development, is for the first time being conducted in Madhya Pradesh in which students, both from rural and urban areas, can appear for tests.
According to the declared schedule, application for the scholarship tests would be released fron June 20 and July 17 would be the last date for its submission.
The Written test would be conducted on August 17 and its result would be declared on September 30.
There would be a coordinator from respective districts education department, the release said adding that all the information regarding the application would be computerised.
Similarily, all the schools would be sent the sample copy of the application for the benefit of those desirous of appearing for the scholarship tests.
